Below are the select rules designed to bets suit the moderator team and people joining this site! Please read through these once or twice to get the best handle of these, and if there is anything you need defined or are confused on, just ask the moderators! Below are the select rules designed to bets suit the moderator team and people joining this site! Please read through these once or twice to get the best handle of these, and if there is anything you need defined or are confused on, just ask the moderators! We apologize for any confusion or difficulty, as we are a vastly different crowd here on Extraordinaire.
Basic Mod Information
- On this site, we are a vastly different community with different experiences and ways we speak. This also applies to us here at Extraordinaire! These fellow people in our staff are Julius , Chronon , and Nightstalker . If you have any questions, please ask us.
- Here are Extraordinaire, we have a strict policy on not being bias or judgmental towards a specific person or set of people. We are all friendly here, but we do not target or express personal bias towards any specific person(s). If you believe one of the staff members are being so, contact a separate mod, and we will work it out and figure out the problem.
- Here at Extraordinaire, we are a dark and fun community, but we have limits on what we will and will not allow. Mods have the full authority to ask or demand something be cut from a conversation for reasons. Mod/Admin word is final and nonnegotiable. Any attempt to entice such discussions after being requested to stop is viable for a temporary or permanent ban.
- Do not attempt to troll the mods or play them for a fool. They have complete authority to take away rights from the members of this site, such as use of NPCs and ability to RP within CIP threads and so on. Further disruption of a staff member after punishment results in a temporary ban, and further such is an instant permanent ban.
- Lastly, we here hope you have as much fun as possible and further the plot of this thread based roleplay to the very end (Hopefully there wont be one!) Please feel free to invite friends, siblings, or strangers to the site. However, please follow the below invite rules to make sure you do not cause trouble for our site.
Roleplaying Rules
- No Godmodding: You are in control in of your own characters only. There are no autohits, insta-kills, or anything else that requires controlling anyone other than your own character. It is also considered God Modding when your character is able to do things that it shouldn’t be able to. (Ex. Run five miles and not being tired, never getting hit by an attack, being in Antarctica with shorts and a short sleeved shirt and not being cold, etc.) We understand that some super powers allow for absurdly odd moments to occur, but we assure you that it will not be a problem. Should someone call you out on Godmodding and this is the case, please bring it up with a moderator or admin and they will assess the situation.
- No Metagaming: You cannot use in real life knowledge to determine your actions in character. If your character doesn’t know something or wouldn’t do it, than he/she wouldn’t. This follows through to the standard that we do not allow 4th wall breaking characters, so you cannot just 'Deadpool' it. If you have further information, please request such from any staff member.
- Reasonable Fighting: While we know that fighting isn't as fun when you are losing, understand that we request you fight in a fair and orderly fashion. Don't attempt to instantly destroy your opponent, or dodge every attack. Even a master falters at some point.
- Power Difference: In this world, we follow the basics of physics and nature with our powers. We understand that some differences might exist in this RP, but the elemental based fighters and heroes/villains still follow the laws of physics, even if they have weird and quirky powers. Water producing warriors would be supremely better against Fire producing fighters. Though, we do sometimes go further with some things. Such as, a fire producing person can not be burned out, as water would turn to steam at such a heat, and so forth. This is mainly up to the mods to discuss with someone on how their power will work when they are being approved.
- Character Accessories/Character Wealth: Yes, we allow someone to be like Tony Stark, or Bruce Wayne and be exceptionally wealthy and famous. However, understand that out items and item systems do follow separate systems and this wealth does not give your character any form of edge. You cannot make a human meat shield mid combat of willing fans due to your sheer popularity, but humans might gather around crime scene fights due to popularity.
- Death: For more information on dying, please see this thread here. To put it short,
upon dying in a thread, a moderator will take the role of Death, the immortal psychopomp to claim your body's soul and drag it to the afterlife. The thread given can take it from there. - Character Possession: This does happen, but when someone possesses your character's body, they have full reign of the commands of it, but you are still a brain inside fighting for your control! You can set boundaries on what this controller can attack, or eat, or etc. You can have it so they cannot make you kill yourself, or slay your friends. This is more for plot reasons, but it assists to stop silent assassins killing through apparent suicides.
- No Canon Characters
On Site Rules
- This site is strictly PG-13. We allow cursing to a degree (leave racial slurs out of it, but a joke here or there is fine), but do not post pornography, links to pornographic sites, or other examples of NSFW artwork/typing. This will result in an instant permanent ban.
- Do not spam the shoutbox or threads with pointless banter. We expect respect among peers.
- Do not attempt to undermine someone or cause conflict. This is a serious issue and can lead to your account being revoked and disabled. We are not playing around when we say don't cause arguments for the fun of it.
- All attempts at releasing bots or attracting bots will result in a permanent IP ban.
- We have a 13 year or older requirement on this site due to the rating of said site. If you are below this age, please do not join, as it is best to keep preteens and younger from conflicting with adults over power complexes.
Battling Rules
Seeing as how this site is based around conflicting classes with super human abilities, it only makes sense that combat would happen. Below are only a few of the many common knowledge free flow rules behind combat for these sorts of sites. If there isn't one mentioned here that you know, alert a mod and they will add it onto this list.
- Do not dodge every attack from someone of equal or lower power to you. Sure, it wouldn't make much sense for someone extremely weaker to beat up a significantly stronger opponent, we are all human, even if we are super humans. A speedster might be able to dodge attacks often, but someone with super strength can still be hit. Even if it doesn't actually do much.
- Don't go for the kill if it isn't a CIP or PS thread. Freaks try to detain Civs, and Civs just want to get away from the police. Killing or serious injury is just a dick move.
- Do not attempt to try and autohit every time or act as though your abilities do so. This is exceptionally important for those with specifically powerful but slow abilities. Nothing is perfect, and even pros miss sometimes.
- Don't cause arguments over powers. Just ask a mod what would happen if you don't exactly know what the science behind an encounter might be. You'd be surprised by how weird nature is sometimes. Sending a fireball through a wormhole would literally freeze the fire. Fun times.
Staff Rules
These are rules specifically for the members of the staff so that normal members can see exactly our code of conduct so they may notice issues that may arise with future moderators and globals.
- Your first role is a keeper of the peace BEFORE you are asserting rules on people. If an argument is going on, you are to stop the argument before fixing whatever problem arises.
- You will not attempt to attract members from other websites to this site. This is strictly forbidden and is punishable in multiple ways.
- You are all equal, no matter your rank. Global Moderators and Admin are all the same, and thus to make an agreement, they must have a majority of the mods to agree to change anything on the site. However, there is a rule in place right here that makes the site owner have one advantage for a single reason. Revolts against the mod team. Should a moderator attempt to sabotage the site in any way, they can and will be punished. Attempted uprising must first be brought forward to the Head Mod or Admin for their opinion as to the conflict so there might be a compromise. But should the entire mod team be sicked upon the head Admin, he has the right to revoke mod powers from those with said powers until a compromise has been accomplished.
Recruitment Rules
- Recruitment/Advertisement is strictly for sites that allow it. If a site does not allow Advertisement, do not advertise there.
- Do not advertise on an RP site that requires inspection or special requirements besides a link back.
- You are not permitted to go behind the backs of admins on other sites and attempt to PM recruit members from other sites. This can cause major problems with our name on the web of RP groups and we prefer to be seen as a nice and good community. Those who do this can and will be punished.
- Advertisement rewards (if we do so) will be given out on update week specifically after a logging session has been completed.
